Palm Spring Fling - Part 2

The Lord came for a visit and sent sunbeams of blessed Jesus love over the house we rented.

It seemed to shine extra bright on all of the hot models.

This model is Alicia Hall, the million dollar winner of the Sports Illustrated Model Search reality TV show. It's the one model show i didn't watch and am now dying to see. Apparently she is the girl all of the other contenstants hated. Can we say Moana from the bachelor anyone??? There may be a better photo on my last blog entry.

Here Karen gets busted drinking an Old Smashin', reading a trashy mag, and wearing a felony on her lips while on the job.
An Old Smashin' is a fresh take on an Old Fashioned and it is tasty. I think we'll be enjoying some at the next Lady Date.

Every morning a new batch of sun tea was made.

And every night the grill was filled with fun.

This is Eden. Not only an awesome photographer, but an excellent cook and snack master. Everytime i turned around, she had whipped up some crazy delicous dip. Between her and karen, eating was excellent.

Pool side lounging after a hard days work.

Night swimming deserves a quit night.

On our last night in Palm Springs we went for drinks and a walk through the gardens at the fancy schmancy Parker Hotel. This place was one of the most amazing hotels i've been to. I took a lot of pictures of it, but none really could show how amazing it was. check out the website, they probably have good photos there. http://www.theparkerpalmsprings.com

Next off to Palm Desert for a bachelorette party white trash style. yeee haw.

Palm Spring Fling - Part 1

so i am in the land of the old, rich, and sweaty. it's beautiful here and i can't believe that with this heat, i am not complaining (that much). the lows here are 97 and the highs a whopping 107 degrees. piling on my new Lancome 50 sunblock to fight those signs of aging.
i am here assisting my friend karen, who is styling a photoshoot for a knitting book specializing in lingerie.
i don't have too much time to write but here are a few pics. more to follow.

on a totally seperate note: Charlie Sheen has come out with a line of clothing for little girls called Sheen Kidz. this is to compete with his ex-wife, Denise Richards line of kids clothes called Kidtoure. i'm sorry, but i think this is really weird.
once again, thank you US Weekly for enriching my life with such fascinating news.

oh mercy mercy me

There have been lots of things going on but i haven't been in the mood to type anything out.
I survived and celebrated turning 30 and i am officially happy to have passed that marker. Everyone I know over thirty welcomed me to "the club" and made sure to tell me it wasn't so bad. I was never afraid in the first place, and now I'm stoked to be a new member. Twenties schmenties. I'm still creating an online photo album from my party so you guys can peep yourselves on the dance floor. And i apologize to anyone who was late for work, showed up smelling of pinata booze, or hurt as much as i did the next day.
In other news, i had to ride in the front of a cop car last wednesday night to identify a man i saw break into a mini-van. I actually walked by him as he rummaged through the car window while standing on a pool of broken glass. I felt terrible when the fuzz rolled me by the corner of 16th and valencia to give a positive identification. he looked so sad and desperate against the cop car. i'm sure i did the right thing but it sucked nonetheless.

here's a little something i hope puts a smile on your face.

Smell-A

April 23-26
___________

deirdre and i took a little work vacation down in LA for a few days. we went to check out a textile show which we thought would take three days, but really only took monday afternoon.

that left us with some serious chill time in our fancy Roosevelt Hotel room that included fluffy bath robes and an even fluffier feather bed.

the view from our room

and although it was a bit overcast

the pool is constantly heated to a perfect 85 degrees

let's swim!!!

this is a table top that my good friend adele painted at the Cha Cha bar. it was awesome to see this because it was in a style i had never seen her paint in. she is quite a talented lady who constantly amazes me with the things she can create. unfotunately the flash of my camera took some of the details out of this.

another talented lady friend, heather, painted this life size wood cutout of willie nelson at the Cha Cha bar. so rad.

i am still racking my brain trying to figure out why i would ever, ever order a chili covered baked potatoe smothered in cheese and sour cream for breakfast.

someone was not impressed

a quick stroll on the ol' Hollywood Blvd introduced me to the these hot fellas.

and to this rockin' star

on our way back to SF, deirdre and i treated ourselves to a pink filled birthday dinner at the Madonna Inn .

a magical rainbow

celebrity sighting:
sat 4 tables away from Nikky Hilton at dinner our second night in town. she played on her blinged out sidekick while blinding everyone with the ice on her ears.
